• Award: SCHADS 4.1 Casual as of 03/03/2025 $53.85 per hour + Super.
• 12-month Contract
• Probation - 6 months
• Total Hours – 12.5 hrs / month: 7.5hours on the last Monday of each month prep, cook & serve monthly community lunch (8.30am-4.30pm/30min break)—supported by volunteer team
• Plus, extra 5 hours/month flexible for planning & budgeting—supported by Centre Coordinator
• Commence ASAP

Position Description

Contribute to a vibrant local neighbourhood house with a focus on inclusivity, well-being, participation and social connection.

Amaroo Neighbourhood Centre Inc. is currently seeking a qualified/experienced casual cook to prepare our monthly community lunch for our local community members (about 50 people per lunch). Duties include menu planning, meal preparation, service and clean-up – this role is well supported by an experienced team of staff and volunteers.

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated ability to lead and operate within a small team.
• Qualifications focused on catering, cooking or food processing. Desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to relate – and respond directly – to people in need.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sector expertise, specifically catering, community services, and/or hospitality.
• We are looking for cook who can prepare simple, fresh, delicious and nutritious home cooked meals – nothing too fancy! 2-course menu (mains & desert).
