Amber is a new way to buy and sell power, designed for a world powered by renewable energy. We give customers direct access to the real-time wholesale electricity price as it varies every 30 mins and the technology to shift more of their energy usage to the times when cheaper renewables are available in the grid. It’s a cheaper way to buy power, a smarter way to sell power, and the fastest way for Australia to reach 100% renewable energy.
We are growing rapidly and have tens of thousands of customers who love what we are doing and a great product that will play a significant role in driving Australia towards a renewable future. We are backed by Australia’s leading VCs (including Square Peg Capital and Main Sequence Ventures), impact-focused investors and individuals, and most recently by Commonwealth Bank and NRMA.
We’re now at a critical moment in taking the business to real scale as we disrupt a huge market for the better. You’d be a part of a rapidly growing team of over 140, with expertise across energy, technology, marketing, and operations. We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and a great culture of people who love coming to work to build a better world.
Mindset Over Experience: We care more about your attitude than your experience.
At Amber, we believe that enabling a culture where everyone is set up to do the best work of their lives and feels connected and empowered is the most important thing we can do to ensure our long-term success. We see managers as the key drivers of our people processes and strategy, and People Ops works closely with leaders to reduce friction across the organisation.
As a People Operations Coordinator, you’ll play a key role by supporting the People Operations team to deliver and execute projects that eliminate high friction, amplify community and set our people up for success.
Reporting to the Senior People Operations Manager, the ideal candidate is a fast learner who thrives in a dynamic environment. You don’t wait for permission—you figure things out, pride yourself on being resourceful. You love supporting your colleagues and solving problems creatively. You bring deep attention to detail, curiosity, and a “how can I help?” attitude to everything you do.
We are a lean team who likes to simplify the overcomplicated. There is a real opportunity to make a big impact in our small People Ops team, and grow with the company! You will learn quickly and get exposed to so many learning opportunities in our fast-growing start-up.If you thrive when getting shit done and creating a seamless, remarkable employee experience, then we’d love to hear from you!
Salary range is anywhere between $75,000 and $95,000 base a year and is quoted excluding superannuation. All roles at Amber include employee stock options over and above the base salary and superannuation.
This is a full-time role, to be based ideally from Melbourne. We are also open to you working 4 days a week, or other suitable flexible working arrangements.
We do have an office in the Melbourne CBD, where we work flexibly between the office and home. For those based in Sydney, catch up in a co-working space, or if you are based elsewhere in Australia, you will work from home. We expect to remain Melbourne-based but maintain flexibility.
Even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements listed above, we still encourage you to apply. We're open to all backgrounds and encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply. We never discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability status.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and applications will be accepted only from candidates already based in Australia, preferably Melbourne with full working rights!
No recruitment firms please. We've got this!
Applications for this role will take you to the employer’s site.
