About the position

We are seeking applications for a Senior Employment Mentor to engage, assess and assist clients in gaining sustainable ongoing employment within an appropriate time-frame, by referring clients to suitable activities and vacancies; monitor and review AMES Australia clients’ compliance requirements; and assist the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) and Senior Manager (SM) to ensure the successful delivery of employment services by monitoring and overseeing the efficient and effective day to day operations of employment services, employees and resources at the Parramatta Site as required.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar position
  • As travel between Sites may be necessary, a current valid Driver Licence is desirable for this role
  • A current Working With Children Check (Employee)
  • Ability to effectively coordinate day-to-day activities at a service delivery site
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills and a proactive approach to seeking solutions
  • Strong time management, organisational and well developed computer skills (including intermediate Microsoft Office skills)
  • Knowledge of the labour market & programs
  • Proven ability to motivate clients, and advocate on their behalf
  • Ability to build rapport & conduct objective assessment of the clients’ skills & abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritise tasks, with an attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal, written and numerical)
  • Proficiency in compliance and adherence to policy, procedures and guidelines
