The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to keeping children and young people free from violence and trauma wherever they live, learn and play. Through Care, Prevention and Advocacy programs, we fight for their right to be safe, so their future is strong.

We also support Dolly’s Dream to help change the culture of bullying by addressing the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide, through education and direct support to young people and families.

At the Foundation, we support our staff to work flexibly, both in location and hours, based on the premise that work will remain the focus of any arrangement.

The role:

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising & Supporter Engagement, the Fundraising Volunteer will play an integral role in supporting and nurturing our current donors, who make our work possible. This role is based in South Melbourne, to be able to effectively work alongside team members from the Development & Communication team, as well as ensure the selected candidate is given full support.

Ideally, the Fundraising Volunteer will be available one to two days per week. However, we are flexible to ensure we find the right candidate. All Volunteers at the Foundation receive a full induction, including Child Safeguarding Training, as well as training and support to perform the role duties.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process direct mail donations into our Fundraising CRM.
  • Regularly thanking our donors, via telephone, email, and handwritten cards.
  • Data Entry into our Fundraising CRM
  • Contacting our donors to update their key details via telephone and email.
  • Printing documents, such as donor receipts, and collating them into envelopes for mailing.
  • Contribute positively to the Foundation’s culture through developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Head of Fundraising & Supporter Engagement, Individual Giving Specialist, Supporter Care Coordinator, CEO and Executive Team.

Experience required:

  • Experience in an administration role and/or Fundraising.
  • Well-developed and excellent communication skills and maturity to relate effectively with internal staff members and external stakeholders, such as our donors.
  • Ability to work autonomously once tasks have been clearly defined and briefed.
  • Well-developed organisational skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Confident and skilled in using Microsoft programs and IT equipment such as printers and laptops, etc.
