Who We Are

Dolly’s Dream was set up in memory of Dolly Everett, aged 14, who took her own life after an extended period of bullying and cyberbullying. Dolly left behind her parents Tick and Kate and her sister Meg, who are now focused on using the funds that have been kindly donated by the community to help prevent other families from going through the same devastating experience.

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to keeping children and young people free from violence and trauma wherever they live, learn and play. Through our Care, Prevention and Advocacy programs, we fight for their right to be safe, so their future is strong.

The Foundation also supports Dolly’s Dream, educating and empowering families and communities to prevent the devastating effects of bullying.

About the role:

Reporting to the Dolly’s Dream Brand and Marketing Manager, the Dolly’s Dream Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator is a member of the Dolly’s Dream team and will be responsible for the Dolly’s Dream social media coordination, monthly newsletters, as well as supporting the overall communication strategy.

To make an impact in this role, you will:

  • Community Management: with over 300,000 followers our Dolly’s Dream social community is always growing. We check in daily with social media monitoring and engagement, ensuring our online community feels heard.
  • Grow Our Community: Build and maintain relationships with supporters, brand advocates, stakeholders and supporting organisations, fostering collaboration and shared success.
  • Planning and scheduling: Support the Dolly’s Dream social media calendar plan that promotes our work, including posting organic content, scheduling and monitoring of Dolly’s Dream social media accounts.
  • Community Management & Escalation: Monitor and manage interactions on owned social media platforms daily, providing timely support and escalating issues or crises to the appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Consistent Tone of Voice: Understand the strong brand loyalty and community ownership of Dolly’s Dream and ensure this is effectively reflected with Dolly’s Dream brand DNA and brand promise in all social media posting.

Knowledge, Experience and Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related role, and relevant qualifications or work experience in communication, marketing, or related field.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to write compelling and engaging content.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing an online community.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to work autonomously with limited direction in an environment with time pressures and multiple priorities.
