Preferred locations: Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane where we have offices, plus Canberra. Depending on experience, candidates from other capital cities may also be considered. (Hybrid WFH arrangements available)
The role involves regular travel to Canberra during parliamentary sitting weeks.
The Strategic Campaigner, International leads Amnesty International Australia’s international and crisis campaigns, requiring a strong mix of strategic, advocacy, and communications skills, along with deep knowledge of international human rights frameworks.
This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic campaign and advocacy plans aligned with our People Powered Strategy and Strategic Priorities.
As an expert in international human rights issues, the Strategic Campaigner provides guidance to staff teams, supporters, and external stakeholders. They are also a confident media spokesperson and public speaker, ensuring high visibility and impact for our campaigns.
The role involves building and maintaining relationships with political decision-makers, government departments, thought leaders, and other key influencers to advance campaign objectives and drive meaningful human rights impact.

The salary for this position is $114,774 (FTE) + super + not for profit salary packaging.
