The AMOU is seeking applications from highly motivated, member-focused individuals with preferably trade union Industrial Officer experience to join our team.

The successful candidate will be based in Cairns and will be primarily responsible for AMOU matters in FNQ. Initially s/he will undertake duties including familiarisation with current enterprise agreements, membership demographics and the membership database, meeting staff members, the Executive Council team and members in their workplaces. S/he will then take on enterprise agreement negotiations, disputes involving AMOU members and Fair Work Commission advocacy duties.

The position would be a full-time, open-ended appointment with a six-month probationary period.

The terms and conditions of employment for AMOU staff are covered by a contemporary Collective Agreement.
