We are seeking a person with a strong commitment to human rights and social justice principles who has extensive experience, for this 2-year fixed term full-time opportunity as a ILC Coordinator, based in our office at Gaythorne. Please note we will be relocating in June 2025.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are recruiting for an ILC Coordinator to deliver the intended outcomes of the project which will build the leadership, knowledge and skills of people from CALD backgrounds with disability to understand and exercise their rights.

Targeted engagement and culturally appropriate information are being delivered across several regions in southeast Queensland including Brisbane, Logan, Toowoomba and Ipswich.In addition, the ILC Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership, mentoring and skill development for the ILC staff.

The position is also responsible for regular reporting to the federal government. This role is for a 2-year full-time contract position. Wages will be in line with Level 6 of the SCHADS Award and there is the option for Salary Sacrifice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITiES ARE TO:

  • Implement and report on the approved detailed Activity Work Plan.
  • Assist and monitor the development and implementation of culturally appropriate communication and engagement plans for each region.
  • Lead and support staff in all regions to deliver culturally appropriate information and capacity building activities in line with the Activity Work Plan.
  • Engage with the Centre for Impact and Change to establish and implement evaluation processes.
  • Implement and monitor the annual budget for this Project, with the support of the CEO.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Demonstrated commitment to the values and principles that uphold the human rights and interests of people with disability from CALD backgrounds.
  2. Experience in working alongside people with disability, including an understanding of best practice approaches that support the inclusion of people with disability in family and community life.
  3. Well-developed written and oral communication skills with experience in providing information to a range of stakeholders including people from CALD backgrounds.
  4. Experience in leading, training, and supporting a team to provide information and deliver capacity building activities to people with disability and their families.
  5. Experience in managing and completing all aspects of a project within defined budget and time constraints.
  6. Ability to work under limited supervision, establish priorities and meet reporting requirements for funding bodies.
  7. Proficiency in IT systems and reporting software. 

MANADATORY REQUIREMENTS

Relevant degree in Social Sciences / Social Work/ Human Services or equivalent and significant experience (3 years or more) working with people with disability.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

It is preferable that the employee hold a current C class driver’s license.
