The Role:

Another new role that further expands our reach and impact, this position we call a Community Connector role.

This position is 0.8 (4 days a week) role is based at the Frankston site.

The Community Connector role will work across both Frankston and Rosebud office sites offering support to families to link them into universal, community and informal supports. You will map out existing networks and maintain a directory whereby practitioners can consult with you on appropriate pathways and referrals. 

What we will look for in your application:

• Excellent understanding of Government Policy and Acts in respect to Children, Youth & Family Services, including legislative and policy frameworks.
• Significant experience in Family Services, Child Protection, Disability, Family Violence or similar.
• Excellent knowledge of, and experience in the application of relevant theoretical approaches that underpin practice (including theories of child attachment, development, and abuse) to vulnerable children, young people and families who have multiple and complex needs.
• Demonstrated experience supporting families presenting with high complex needs, including culturally sensitive practices when working with marginalised, minority and difficult to engage families in their homes and communities.
• Excellent experience in conducting risk and needs assessments and developing and implementing action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
• Knowledge of service and community supports available to assist families.  
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, and ability to be self-directed.
• Ability to work and contribute to outcomes as part of a multi-disciplinary team.  
• Highly developed communications skills and an ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

A relevant degree in Social Work, Psychology, and/or a related degree in behavioural sciences.

The important stuff:

• A salary at SCHCADS level 5 which equates to $94,000 plus super.
• Negotiable through the increments based on experience.
• Part time, 4 days per week.
• 12 month contract 1st July 2024 till 30th June 2025.
• Based at our office in Frankston and Rosebud.
