Your role:
An exciting opportunity exists for you to join our dynamic team and add to the energy and expertise in supporting vulnerable adults and families who are experiencing financial difficulties.
- Provide financial counselling across the inner eastern catchment, with a focus on intake and assessment
- Undertake central intake and triage service for financial counselling clients in the inner east
- Undertake thorough assessment processes that ensures that clients receive a prompt and efficient service
- Integration with state-wide telephone financial counselling service (National Debt Helpline)
- Join a team of experienced financial counsellors and build on your own skills and expertise
Qualifications needed:
- Hold a Diploma of Community Services – Financial Counselling and have a minimum of 6 months Financial Counselling experience. As well as membership, or a commitment to gain membership with the Financial and Consumer Rights Council prior to starting employment
We are looking for:
- Demonstrated skills and experience in Financial Counselling and Family Violence Financial Counselling, including a thorough knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to financial issues, including sensitivity to issues of confidentiality, gender, cultural background, disability, age and sexuality.
- Highly developed skills in advocacy, negotiation and written communication. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills and the ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office packages and other statistical databases such as IRIS.
