Why have we created this role?

Anglicare Victoria is committed to imbedding Lived and Living Experience into our workforce and acknowledges the unique and invaluable contribution LLE Peer Workforce employees bring to service delivery. 

AV's Eastern AOD Program is made up of State and Federally Funded Programs which deliver, face to face and telehealth services to young people, adults and families across the Inner and Outer Eastern Region. The AOD Programs are made up of the SURe Program, A consortia partnership with EACH which delivers, centralised intake, Assessment, Counselling, Care and Recovery Co-ordination and Family Reunification Program (FRO). Additionally, The Linking Youth and Families Together Program, which works with young people and their families through an assertive outreach model, and lastly, we are funded by EMPHN to deliver the Dual Diagnosis Program and the Family Alcohol and Drug Service. 

We are looking to recruit a Lived or Living Experience Peer Worker roles to the team, acknowledging the invaluable contribution that can be gained from LLE.

  • Part of a large and multidisciplinary team 
  • A key member of all the above-mentioned teams 
  • Bring an expertise and understanding of Lived Experience 

Make it work:

  • Training in Peer Work
  • Some experience in Lived Experience Peer workforce 
  • Shows a strong sense of what their LLE brings to the role and how this will support people accessing the service
  • A developing understanding of the AOD workforce 
  • A passion for supporting individuals and/ or family members in their recovery journey through a relational and hope driven lens. 

Remuneration and benefits:

  • SCHADS level 3 which is $37.35-$40.05 per hour dependent upon experience in a similar role.
  • Fixed term to June 30th 2026. 18 months.
  • Part time hours, 2 days per week, 0.4, 15.2 hours.
  • Both office days at Box Hill close to public transport.
  • Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card so you keep more of what you earn.
