About the Opportunity

As the Director Business Development, you will lead our efforts in achieving organisational sustainability and meeting community needs. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with executives, senior managers, and content specialists to drive business development activities that support our organisational strategy.

About You

You will be a dynamic and strategic leader with proven success driving business development initiatives, preferably within the community services sector or related fields. You will be an exceptional strategic writer, leveraging your skills to craft communications that resonate with diverse audiences.

Your strong analytical expertise will be crucial in identifying growth opportunities and mitigating risks, ensuring every decision is backed by data. A deep understanding of social, economic, and political trends is key, coupled with demonstrated experience in advocacy and policy development. Your expertise in effective stakeholder management will strengthen our relationships and amplify our impact.

Central to this role is a genuine commitment to working inclusively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally diverse individuals. You'll possess the sensitivity and insight to address issues affecting these communities, fostering meaningful engagement and communication.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold relevant qualifications in Social Sciences or Business-related discipline combined with a minimum 5 years experiences (within Community Services Sector preferred)
  • Have highly effective strategic writing and analysis skills and an ability to adapt communications to diverse audiences and experience in service promotions
  • Demonstrate strong evidence of collaborative approaches to planning and highly developed project and contract management skills
  • Demonstrated skills and interest in the development and implementation of organisation wide business development processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to successfully navigate internal and external relationships
  • Financial acumen including the ability to develop financial modelling for tenders
  • Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations.
