About headspace

headspace are a busy and innovative youth mental health service providing a variety of mental health, medical, sexual and other health related services as well as vocational, functional groups and social services to young people aged 12 to 25 years and their families.

About the Opportunity

The Senior Clinician Eating Disorders will provide primary and secondary case consultation services with a high level of clinical expertise in the assessment, treatment, and delivery of targeted interventions to young people experiencing eating disorders. This position will work in collaboration with the Royal Darwin Hospital Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Service.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Approved tertiary qualification (Allied Health) and registration with the relevant regulatory body such as AHPRA or membership of and adherence to professional standards, for example AASW.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of evidence-based treatment for young people and/or adults experiencing eating disorders
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with young people and their families, providing empathetic and supportive care.
  • Extensive experience in the planning and provision of mental health clinical care, including completion of mental health assessments, crisis intervention, case formulation, psychoeducation and short-term treatment interventions to young people experiencing mental health and/or substance use, and/or other social difficulties using current evidence-based approaches.
  • A passion for youth mental health, in particular working with young Aboriginal people and their families, and keen interest in improving service, access, and cultural safety of primary youth services.
