The role

As a Bequest Coordinator, you will take a donor-centric approach to develop and nurture relationships with our supporters by showing appreciation, empathy and compassion.

Working closely with our Relationships Manager and Relationships Coordinator, you will help deliver the bequest program to support the financial growth and sustainability of the organisation. You will:

  • Be responsible for re-engagement opportunities of all bequest prospects (intending and considering) by following up bequest interest via information having been sent or emailed to the supporters.
  • Coordinate community involvement, site management and other day to day elements in holding bequeathed property. 
  • Initiate and attend visitations with potential and existing supporters and bequest donors in Victoria and interstate to achieve specific outcomes.
  • Assist with estate administration record keeping, grant applications, trust, and major donor reporting.

About you

You are passionate about building long-term meaningful relationships with our supporters through respectful engagement to inspire a commitment to leave behind a legacy of kindness.

Our ideal person is:

  • Inspired by our vision and aligned with our values.
  • Experienced within a bequest management and/or major gifts relationships role (NFP, philanthropy, fundraising etc).
  • Confident and comfortable handling sensitive, emotive conversations and making high volumes of meaningful phone calls and responses to the bequest pipeline and supporters.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and thrive in a fluid and dynamic environment.

You'll stand out further if you also have:

  • Estate financial management (e.g., property management and bequeathed property/covenants).
  • Fundraising training (FIA, CFRE or Veritus Major/Mid Donor Academy training).
