Veg Socials Lead

Animals Australia

THE ROLE

Our vision to create a kinder, more compassionate and respectful world for all living beings is bold and ambitious. To achieve this vision, we need to inspire changed thinking about our relationship with animals. Fundamental to this shift in thinking is encouraging people to make conscious, kind food choices. And that’s where Animals Australia’s veg advocacy initiatives come in. Working in this space is incredibly dynamic so we encourage a learning mindset at all levels of the organisation, across all roles.

As part of our Veg Advocacy team, the Veg Socials Lead will initiate, develop and drive strategies that excite people about plant-based food, while empowering them with the knowledge of how their food choices can help create a kinder, healthier and more sustainable world.

This includes working closely with the Veg Programs Lead (and other key stakeholders) to:

  • Maintain and grow innovative strategies that optimise audience engagement and action across all VegKit’s social channels.
  • Create compelling content that is well-informed, maintains consistency of voice and supports organisational goals.
  • Proactively research, capture, evaluate and report on emerging trends, and effectiveness of social media strategies and content.

SKILLS REQUIRED

You are passionate about plant-based food and advocacy. Importantly you can show:

  • An alignment to our vision and values.
  • Experience with social media strategy including building and engaging online communities and implementing multi-channel strategies and content plans.
  • Outstanding communication skills with proven success in creating influential content and digital assets.
  • Openminded – with a willingness to challenge your own thinking - in the interests of doing whatever is needed to get the best outcomes for animals.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES THAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

  • Experience in online community management and/or engagement, and/or customer service.
  • Experience using social media management / scheduling / moderating tools such as Agorapulse, Linktree, Later.com, and creator studio.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring effective social media ad campaigns.

Please refer to the attached Position Description for a full outline of the role and what we’re looking for.
