About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Manager, Skilled Migration Services to oversee the skills assessment process for internationally trained nurses, midwives, and healthcare professionals seeking to migrate to Australia.
Reporting to the Director of Skilled Migration Services, this role ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and quality of assessments, manages daily assessment targets, and provides leadership to assessors. The Manager will also coordinate communication with key stakeholders, contribute to policy development, and support data and performance reporting efforts.
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse with leadership experience who is passionate about workforce integrity, migration assessment, and governance in Australia’s healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily assessment targets, workflow, and ensure timely completion of skills assessments.
- Supervise Senior Assessors and Assessors, ensuring high-quality performance. Lead the efficient management of the Skilled Migration Services inbox, review assessments, and approve outcome letters.
- Act as a knowledge resource, providing guidance and support to team members.
- Provide induction training and ongoing development for new team members. Manage external stakeholder communication, including applicants, migration agents, and industry bodies.
- Assist in developing policies, guidelines, and processes in collaboration with leadership.
- Support data collection and performance reporting to drive operational improvements.
- Represent ANMAC at migration-related and industry-related stakeholder events as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a registered nurse.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a registered nurse.
- Postgraduate qualifications in nursing, midwifery, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of nursing education environments in Australia and internationally.
- Excellent organisational skills for managing daily assessment targets, workflows, and team coordination.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and staff supervision within a customer service-focused team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice and an understanding of midwifery and aged care services.
- Awareness of national and international trends across nursing, midwifery, and aged care.
- Ability to explain complex information clearly and handle inquiries professionally via phone and email.
- High-level attention to detail in document review, assessment validation, and decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with NetSuite or similar platforms.
