About the Role:

The Industrial Officer, Team Leader plays a pivotal role in leading and coordinating a multi-disciplinary team within the Industrial Office of ANMFSA. Driving leadership, advocacy, and strategy, they provide expert advice, manage cases, support enterprise bargaining, and represent members in tribunals. They also lead workplace campaigns and enhance member engagement to achieve positive industrial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide expert industrial guidance to your team
  • Oversee case management and ensure high-quality member services
  • Support enterprise agreement negotiations and represent Members in industrial tribunals
  • Develop and implement workplace campaigns to foster member engagement
  • Contribute to industrial policy development and strategic planning

About You:

You are a highly skilled professional with qualifications in Industrial Relations, Law, HR, or Nursing/Midwifery, and you bring strong leadership, advocacy, and negotiation skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in formal industrial relations or legal practice
  • Relevant qualifications in law and/or nursing/midwifery
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and workplace relations
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team
  • Highly developed negotiation, advocacy, and conflict resolution skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication abilities
  • Commitment to the principles of trade unionism
  • A current driver's license and hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Experience in workplace bargaining, dispute resolution, and industrial advocacy
  • Proven success in developing workplace campaigns and negotiating agreements
  • Comprehensive knowledge in industrial relations and policy, including management of workplace disputes, industrial action, bargaining disputes, enterprise agreements, unfair dismissal, general protections, and enforcement of industrial instruments.
  • Understanding of nursing, midwifery, and aged care industry policies and frameworks
