The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

The college's purpose is to serve our communities by leading high quality patient care in anaesthesia, perioperative and pain medicine, optimising health and reducing the burden of pain.

About the opportunity

The primary role of the Course Coordinator - Queensland will be to:

  • Coordinate pre-fellowship courses and activities
  • Support the QLD Trainee Committee in line with college policy and strategic objectives, and other QLD committees as required
  • Maintain website and data integrity as relevant
  • Present a professional image of the ANZCA Queensland Regional Office as the first point of contact for all callers and visitors
  • Provide finance and general administrative support to the QLD office
  • Provide back-up support for Continuing Medical Education (CME) events, examinations and other activities as required

About the team

The Regional team forms part of a supportive national group of regional teams, headed by the General Manager Regional Operations. We work across multiple time zones in Australia. The regional team is also a part of the Fellowship Affairs team. We have a can-do attitude, we are focused, friendly and driven to achieve the best outcomes for our trainees and fellows.

Keys to your success

The role will ideally suit a detail-orientated and self-motivated individual who loves working in a fast-paced team environment.

Specifically, you will have:

  • Sound experience in an administrative position gained in a professional environment that has involved:
    • demonstrated experience coordinating courses or events.
    • experience supporting professional committees including taking minutes.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation
  • Strong team orientation
  • Ability to work after hours on certain days a month (days are planned ahead of time)
  • IT skills:
    • Excellent keyboard skills, specifically fast and accurate data entry
    • Intermediate level - MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
    • The aptitude to learn and become proficient using the in-house database system iMIS Zoom, and Adobe Suite

Experience in a professional membership or academic environment would be valuable but not essential
