About the opportunity:

The primary role of the Designer will be to work with two senior designers on a wide range of projects and collateral within the communications team. The role has a particular focus on digital and new media design, encompassing disciplines such as video editing, animation, app and web design.

In this role you will work as part of a small but effective team on a wide range of projects, including (but not limited to) visual identities for large events, video editing and animation, marketing campaigns, app and web design, social media design, typesetting and other general graphic design duties.

This is a part-time role (4 days per week) reporting to the Operations Manager – Design and Communications.

In this role you will:

  • Design and deliver high-quality visual communications across digital interfaces, print media and social media platforms.
  • Ensure consistency and coherence across ANZCA branded design collateral.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, other college departments and external stakeholders (such as anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists) to create impactful design solutions.
  • Oversee the design process of projects from briefing to final delivery, ensuring they are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, design trends and best practices to ensure the college maintains a high level of relevance and professionalism in its communications.
  • Work well in a collaborative environment, and autonomously when required.

Skills and experience:

This is an excellent role for an experienced design professional who has the talent and creativity to manage the end-to-end design process for projects. In-house design experience in government, higher education or healthcare would be advantageous. You will be a strong communicator who thrives on collaboration.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in design.  
  • At least 4 years of professional design experience.  
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Mac environment), Figma and the Microsoft Office suite.  
  • Possess a good grasp of emerging technologies and tools within the digital design space.  
  • A strong folio of design work, with particular focus on digital design, web design, animation and video editing.  
  • Well-developed reading, writing and comprehension skills with precise attention to detail.  
  • Understanding the importance of brand consistency and experience working within the framework of a style guide.  
  • An understanding of shared filing systems and good processes.  
  • Ability to work efficiently, balance multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
