The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

The college's purpose is to serve our communities by leading high quality patient care in anaesthesia, perioperative and pain medicine, optimising health and reducing the burden of pain.

About your new role:

The health and wellbeing of our people is more important than ever. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to provide advice and support regarding best practice health, wellbeing and safety matters to ensure our working environment whether in the office or at home is the safest it can be.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for health, wellbeing and safety and have the confidence to speak up when something isn’t right. You care about people and want to be part of a tight knit team, are dependable, collaborative, detail orientated and can apply innovative problem-solving skills.

This role includes but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with H&S legislation across all jurisdictions
  • Conducting risk assessments and investigations where required
  • Updating H&S policies and procedures as required
  • Fulfilling project responsibilities in the implementation of H&S initiatives
  • Identifying injury/illness risk exposures and implementing appropriate interventions

This is a permanent, part-time role (2 days a week) reporting to the Manager, People Experience.

Keys to your success:

This role will ideally suit a good problem solver and empathetic individual. Specifically, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and relevant certifications in health and safety.
  • Strong and demonstrated experience in health and safety ideally in an office based environment.
  • Excellent influencing and business partnering skills with the ability to drive a proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture at all levels of the College.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary workplace health and safety issues, models and best practice, with sound legislative knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt effectively to different operating styles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in developing and delivering H&S training.
  • Highly developed computer skills with an aptitude to use in-house programs and an LMS.
  • Experience in office based ergonomic assessments an advantage but not essential.
