As the Head of Stakeholder Relations, you will play a key role in providing strategic and tactical oversight of the APNIC Foundation's stakeholder relations, technical engagement and advocacy, with the goal of securing funding and support for Internet development projects and managing internal and external relationships.
Reporting to the Foundation CEO, this is a high-profile, externally facing role that requires well-honed stakeholder management skills and a solid understanding of the Internet ecosystem.
We don't expect you to be an expert in everything and place a strong emphasis on learning and development. So whilst it would be nice if your background included the above, we'll support you to grow and learn them.
The Foundation team is multicultural and diverse and prides itself on a respectful and inclusive culture.
The APNIC Foundation is a registered non-profit in Australia and Hong Kong with its main office in Brisbane. The Foundation's mission is "to increase investment in Internet development in the Asia Pacific region" to support the work of APNIC, the Internet numbers registry for the Asia Pacific.
The APNIC Foundation and APNIC share a common vision of "a global, open, stable, and secure Internet that serves the entire Asia Pacific community". Under its charter, the Foundation seeks to "advance education, on a non-profit making basis, in technical, operational and policy matters relating to Internet infrastructure".
The Internet is an essential part of life but a 'digital divide' exists not only between the 'connected' and the 'unconnected', but between those who enjoy dependable, fast, secure services and those who do not, with serious implications for efforts to achieve sustainable social and economic development in the Asia Pacific region.
With reliable, affordable and secure access to a quality Internet, billions of people can be healthier, better educated, and more productive members of society. By investing in developing skills and infrastructure we can foster an open, stable and secure Internet, accessible to all.
Please note the applicant can be based in Brisbane or any location within the Asia Pacific region.
