Who are we and what do we do?

The APNIC Foundation is a registered non-profit in Australia and Hong Kong with its main office in Brisbane. The Foundation's mission is "to increase investment in Internet development in the Asia Pacific region" to support the work of APNIC, the Internet numbers registry for the Asia Pacific.

The APNIC Foundation and APNIC share a common vision of "a global, open, stable, and secure Internet that serves the entire Asia Pacific community". Under its charter, the Foundation seeks to "advance education, on a non-profit making basis, in technical, operational and policy matters relating to Internet infrastructure".

Why is this so important?

The Internet is an essential part of life but a 'digital divide' exists not only between the 'connected' and the 'unconnected', but between those who enjoy dependable, fast, secure services and those who do not, with serious implications for efforts to achieve sustainable social and economic development in the Asia Pacific region.

With reliable, affordable and secure access to a quality Internet, billions of people can be healthier, better educated, and more productive members of society. By investing in developing skills and infrastructure we can foster an open, stable and secure Internet, accessible to all.

Please note the applicant can be based in Brisbane or any location within the Asia Pacific region.
