Applied Abilities Head Office is located in Victoria Point Qld. Our Participants are located in Redlands City, Inner North Brisbane & Logan & Ipswich areas

Our Disability Extraordinaires will need to be someone:

• Who has experience dealing with challenging behaviours
• Will get involved - we don't sit on the sidelines and watch our participants doing an activity; we work alongside them and do the activity as well! ie if participants are swimming then you will be swimming,
• That knows what they are doing– our participants want to have confidence in you
• That can problem solve, when a situation occurs (as they do from time to time participants may need assistance to solve their problems.
• That can “Assist our Participants”, is capable of rationalising situations, but not overstepping the boundaries.
• Who knows how to listen
• Who treats a person with a disability as a “person”, not as a participant.

Our Extraordinaires must be experienced within the industry (mental health, disability, youth work, individual care)

• Have experience dealing with challenging behaviours
• Promote and develop independent living skills and community access for adults and teens
• First Aid Certificate and CPR (current)
• Current Open Driver’s license
• Own car and fully comprehensive insurance

The successful applicants will be required to hold or be willing to obtain

NDIS worker screening clearance (Yellow Card), Working with Children Check (Blue Card), a National Criminal History Check, Driver's License & Car.

We will work with the successful applicants to build a consistent roster and a view to a permanent position in the future.
