The opportunity

The Student Representative Council (SRC) provides activities, events and services that contribute to a vibrant campus culture and support students to have an active voice in their University experience. We are currently looking for an SRC Advocacy Officer to be responsible for the provision of services to undergraduate students at Griffith University's Brisbane and Logan campuses. The primary focus of this role is to assist students to understand University policies and procedures, and to provide information and support regarding review, appeal and complaints processes.

This role also includes a requirement to contribute to the conceptualisation and delivery of a suite of events and programs focused on student wellbeing. Success in this role requires collaboration and consultation with students to ensure a service model that is student-centred and student-led.

This is a fixed term (until 31 December 2023), part time position based at the Nathan and Logan campuses. Griffith is a multi-campus university and therefore it is understood that this position will work across other campuses as required.

About you

To be successful within this role, you will have completed a degree in social work or human services and/or have experience in a related field. You have evidence of a passion for building effective relationships with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, and have a keen interest in understanding and applying policies and procedures. In addition you will have an attention for detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities within specific timeframes.

Salary range

HEW Level 5: $69,109 - $77,529 per annum (full-time equivalent).

FTE salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $$80,857 - $90,708 per annum.
