The Investment Dialogue for Australia's Children (IDAC) is an ambitious 10-year collaboration between government and philanthropy to improve the wellbeing of children, young people, and their families, by working with communities to make long-term, intergenerational change.

The Executive Officer is a critical role reporting to the head of the IDAC central team, which is responsible for convening and strategically shaping the IDAC partnership. The IDAC team is based in ARACY, a leading organisation supporting complex systems change initiatives for children and young people in Australia.

This role offers the flexibility of working from home, as the IDAC team works remotely from locations throughout Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance – Manage and provide secretariat support for key IDAC governance groups, including the Strategy Group, Working Groups and Leadership Councils.
  • Coordination – Manage meeting and event coordination, including small to large IDAC meetings and logistical support for national roundtable events.
  • Project management – Support team operational management, including project management, budget management and yearly reporting.
  • Other – Contribute to delivery of other project work led by the IDAC team, depending on evolving priorities.

Skills and capabilities required

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage a high volume of tasks in an evolving and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent ability to build collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and coordinate a range of meetings and forums, including with senior executives, CEOs and community partners.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write concise email correspondence, documents and meeting minutes.
  • Team player who is comfortable working with team members who are geographically dispersed.

Experience and knowledge required

  • Previous experience managing governance groups, coordination and project management in at least one of philanthropy, government or the community sector is essential.
  • An understanding of systems change and/or policies targeted at improving the wellbeing of children, youth, families and communities would be beneficial.

  • Obtain and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) or equivalent certification
  • Have the lawful right to work in Australia
