Teen Challenge Tasmania is seeking to employ a Café Manager – Working Manager to manage and actively participate in the operation of our café, providing training and mentorship to teens facing challenges, guiding them in developing practical skills, strong work ethics and personal growth aligned with the organisation’s Christian values.

The key responsibilities of the job are:

• Operational Management
  • Oversee café operations, ensure a clean and welcoming environment, develop and implement procedures, hire and onboard new staff and produce food.
• Training and Mentorship
  • Provide hands-on training for teens, act as a positive role model, develop tailored training plans and track participant’s progress.
• Leadership and Team Building
  • Lead, motivate and mentor a team of teens, volunteers and workers.
• Financial Accountability
  • Manage budgets, monitor expenses and ensure profitability of the café while assisting in fundraising activities and community engagement projects.
• Community Engagement
  • Promote the café as a hub for community connection and outreach by creating a welcoming atmosphere which aligns with the organisation’s mission.
