Since 1993, the Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) in Sydney has provided a place of welcome, practical and personal support for people living in the community who are seeking asylum.
The ASC's Intensive Support team provides short to medium term case coordination that is culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed and strengths based.
Intensive Support Coordinators use a person centred approach to work with people seeking asylum and support them to identify goals, and address issues that may be an obstacle to their self-development and independence.
As part of a multifaceted Services and Engagement team, Intensive Support Coordinators provide holistic case management for people with complex needs and situations. These can include issues of homelessness, mental illness, family disruption and AOD concerns.
This role is full-time for a fixed term of 6 months (to 30 June 2022).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ASC continues to adapt to deliver services differently. The successful candidates must be flexible to work from the office or work remotely as necessary.
