The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (TFHC) provides support services across child protection, domestic and family violence, youth justice services, multicultural affairs and senior’s recognition. As Director Project Governance and Oversight, your primary objective is to provide high-level strategic leadership, advice and planning, and apply your project management expertise to ensure TFHC projects are executed effectively and efficiently, including large, cross-Agency and cross-Government projects.

You will lead the development and implementation of TFHC’s project governance framework, defining structure, processes, policies and tools / templates for project management across the Agency. You will also lead governance and oversight of projects ensuring the development and implementation of risk mitigation techniques and project milestones and outcomes are achieved. In addition, you will oversee the delivery of post-project implementation reviews, identifying and reporting on progress and areas for continual improvements.

To meet the challenges of this strategic role, you require demonstrated leadership in senior management, experience developing and implementing cross-organisational policies and frameworks related to governance and the oversight of project management and delivery.

A solid understanding of strategic planning, risk management and risk mitigation, and experience driving change management initiatives will be highly valued. As will a proven business acumen, cultural competence, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop strong relationships and build organisational capability.
