The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities provides support services across child protection, domestic and family violence, youth justice services, multicultural affairs and senior’s recognition. As the Executive Director of Families and Communities, your primary objective is to provide high-level expert advice and strategic leadership to the Families portfolio in the Central Australian region ensuring the effective design and delivery of strategic programs and reform initiatives that provide services and support to children, young people and families.
In addition, you are responsible for the management of procurement planning processes and selection of service providers, ensuring programs are evidence-based and grounded in operational realities and a high standard of service and advice is maintained. Developing strong networks and collaborative partnerships, and leading stakeholder consultation throughout the design phase of new programs is essential.
To meet the challenges of this strategic role you require demonstrated experience at a senior executive level, extensive leadership in a complex environment and a track record delivering strategic outcomes in a welfare services environment. High-level communication, interpersonal and influential skills are essential as are political astuteness and cultural competence.
