About the Role

Contributing to excellent patient care the Practice Support Supervisor will provide support and advice to the Medical Reception Team, ensuring the medical administration function is conducted in an accurate and time sensitive manner; it is therefore an essential requirement that the Practice Support Supervisor is competent in working autonomously with an attention to detail.

Duties

  • Actively contribute to the implementation of the Model of Care with particular emphasis on leading and supporting the function of the medical reception.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow though effective management of the clinic calendars, front line support and floor management.
  • Ensure appropriate handling of GP referrals.
  • Ensure the handling of patient correspondence is in accordance with ATSICHS Privacy Policy and Procedures.
  • Provide effective leadership and support to the medical receptionist team.
  • Commit to a high level of quality management for ATSICHS through use of LogiQC quality management systems.
  • Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes with annual reviews into the efficiency of the service provision.
  • Comply with ATSICHS policy and procedure in addition to other legislation, guidelines and regulation.
  • Contribute towards ensuring the Medical Service Billing function is in accordance with the ATSICHS Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure effective reporting and auditing of patient demand, patient needs, patient files and information.
  • Cultivating productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation, trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of staff.
  • Assess the performance of staff ensuring opportunities for their personal and career development and the management of any performance issues that need to be addressed.

  • Base salary $66,805 to $73,358 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience).

COVID - 19 Requirements

  • Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid 19 vaccine is encouraged.

Desired Skills and Experience

Required

  • National Police clearance or willing to apply.
  • Certificate III Business Administration (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in an administration and /or service coordination role.
  • Experience in managing a team as a 2IC or team leader.
  • Interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate your ability to problem solve and negotiate positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated organisation skills, including an ability to multi-task, to plan, set and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines, and to work independently, efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience working within an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service.
  • Previous experience working with an electronic Patient Management System such as MMEx.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Australian Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) and the Medicare system and Practice Incentive Programs (PIP).

Preferrable

  • Current First Aid & CPR.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and understand the cycle of care patient system.
  • Ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture and ways of doing business.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with – AGPAL, PIP IHI Revenue and MBS (Medicare Billing Schedule).
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a focus on client focused outcomes.
