About the HR Business Partnering department

The HR Business Partnering function sits within the People and Culture Directorate, and acts as a trusted partner to stakeholders and organisational leadership teams. The team works across Austin Health to provide strategic and operational HR advice, coaching and subject matter expertise on a range of HR matters.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, HR Business Partners, you will work closely with business leaders in a portfolio that includes primarily clinical areas of Austin Health.

A regular day will see you:

  • Working with an allocated portfolio of managers to build capability and enable the implementation of HR processes.
  • Providing guidance and subject matter expertise to deliver end-to-end operational HR solutions to identified issues.
  • Working closely with aligned Senior HR Business Partners to support portfolios and address identified people issues.
  • Working closely with other P&C Departments to deliver a comprehensive and seamless service into the business.
  • Acting as a central People and Culture point of contact for HR issues, and as a conduit for People and Culture initiatives into the business.
  • Attending and actively contributing to meetings and other activities with the team, colleagues and stakeholders.

About you

You will be an experienced HR practitioner, who has excellent communication skills and a willingness to actively participate in issues resolution and problem solving. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and operate with a high degree of autonomy and proactiveness in your work.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

  • Previous experience in a Business Partnering or similar HR role.
  • Relationship management expertise, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders within P&C and portfolio areas.
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills in order to scope and understand problems and issues, and identify and implement resolution pathways.
  • A commitment to team work and contributing to initiatives, projects and team activities.
  • An engaged and proactive approach to the work.
