The Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform (The Partnerships Platform) is looking for motivated and skilled professionals who are keen to make a difference. We seek passionate staff who work collaboratively to deliver ideas and advice that can help our Pacific Island Country partners meet their governance and stability goals.

The Adviser to the Australian Director, Tuvalu Trust Fund (TTF) requires a proven track record in financial market analysis, investment and management. They will have the ability to apply sound judgement and cross-cultural negotiation skills to achieve outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative, respectful, flexible, and resilient professional with a keen focus on demonstrating strong analytical skills to provide high quality advice and sound brief analysis to support effective management of the Tuvalu Trust Fund.

Responsibilities and deliverables of this role include:

  • Review all documents related to the TTF, especially those presented by the Investment Manager and the Investment Consultant and provide sound financial and investment analysis and advice to the Australian Director.
  • Provide recommendations and mitigation strategies to address fund and investment risks.
  • Chair Investment Committee meetings when requested, and report to the Board on all significant investment related activities in the inter-board meeting periods.
  • Monitor the performance of the investment managers against the pre-defined investment criteria and report to the Board thereon.
  • Attend the TTF Board Meetings and Investment Committee Meetings to provide technical support the Australian Director and the Board.

About You

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, respect, resilience and adaptability, and a preparedness to work with limited resources in a challenging environment, this includes the ability to successfully build and manage relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in in public financial management disciplines and/or international development, and with technical skills in investment portfolios. You will also have excellent analytical, reporting and verbal communication skills.

You will be required to demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), child protection and the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.
