The Australian Childhood Foundation stands at the forefront of transformative reforms in Western Australia's Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) sector. Awarded a contract to deliver foster care services in the Perth area, the Foundation collaborates closely with Karla Kuliny Aboriginal Corporation to provide trauma-transformative therapeutic services, making significant strides in improving care outcomes for children and young people.
The Therapeutic Specialist position will have a focus on equipping and supporting carers in their provision of therapeutic care to children and young people in the program. The Therapeutic Specialist will provide case consultation and advice to other staff, particularly around trauma, attachment, and assessments. They will offer leadership and direct service in the clinical assessment and support for children and young people in the program. The Therapeutic Specialist will develop and implement a range of appropriate therapeutic supports for children and young people in out of home care and training for professionals and carers in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches to out of home care.
The Foundation currently has a number of full-time opportunities available for Therapeutic Specialist's based in East Perth on an ongoing basis.
