About the opportunity

The Web Producer is a part time, 30.4 hours per week (4 days) term contract for a period of up to 2 years. The role is responsible for the planning, development, and maintenance of the AVA’s conference and event online presence to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience for members and stakeholders.

A significant focus of this role is on building and managing the AVA’s conference-related websites and platforms, including exhibition booking systems, registration platforms, conference apps, and abstract submission platforms.

You will work collaboratively with various departments to manage content, improve website functionality, and drive digital engagement at AVA. Occasional travel and outside of hours work may
be required as part of this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and update web content to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance.
  • Collaborate with content creators and other departments to gather and publish new content.
  • Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties.
  • Develop, migrate content and maintain websites ensuring they are functional, up-to-date, and optimised.
  • Develop and manage conference exhibition booking platforms, ensuring seamless user experience for exhibitors.
  • Create and manage conference registration and exhibition booking platforms, facilitating easy and secure exhibitor bookings, registration for attendees and conference reporting.
  • Develop and oversee conference apps, enhancing and improving the digital experience for attendees.
  • Manage conference abstract submission, or speaker EOI platforms, ensuring a smooth submission and review processes.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Implement new website features and improvements based on user feedback and organisational needs.
  • Ensure websites and platforms are user-friendly, accessible, and mobile-ready.
  • Conduct regular usability testing and analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with designers to create engaging and visually appealing web pages.
  • Monitor website performance using analytics tools and generate reports to inform strategy.
  • Identify trends and insights to enhance user engagement and improve content effectiveness.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the AVA’s digital strategy.
  • Optimise web content for search engines to improve visibility and ranking.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to support digital marketing campaigns.
  • Implement best practices for SEO, including keyword research and on-page optimisation.
  • Manage web-related projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and status reports for stakeholders.

About You

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Web Producer, Web Developer, or similar role.
  • Experience with Events/Registration/Ticketing software EG. Stova, EventsAir, Eventful, Trybooking, Eventbrite.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and web design best practices.
  • Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and SEO strategies.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a membership organisation or non-profit sector.
  • Experience with education and events
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, LMS systems and member engagement platforms.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., STOVA, Optimizley, WordPress).
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva).
