AWC has established an exciting new partnership with the Traditional Owners of the Ngalurrtju Aboriginal Land Trust. The partnership project aims to deliver effective conservation by applying AWC’s approach to conservation alongside strong engagement with Traditional Owners in planning and through direct employment of Indigenous Rangers.
With that, AWC is seeking a passionate Indigenous Ranger Coordinator (IRC) to join the Ngalurrtju team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the IRC is responsible for managing a small team of Indigenous Rangers to be employed casually to undertake works per an approved Conservation Land Management Program. This role requires engagement with various key stakeholders such as:
The role involves engaging with AWC supporters and donors, including Supporter Events and contributing to AWC’s communications program, which are essential functions of this position. In this respect, the successful candidate will need to be a strong advocate for AWC’s conservation model and achievements.

PLEASE NOTE: this role is initially offered as a 12-month fixed term contract, with the possibility for an extension or permanency. The role is based in Alice Springs with regular trips to Ngalurrtju (2.5hr drive), where basic on-site accommodation is available.
