About the Role

We have full and part-time opportunities for dynamic, organised and experienced Board-Approved Supervisors to be part of our Provisional Psychology Academy. Board Approved Supervisors play a crucial role in providing primary and secondary Board-approved supervision, tailored training, and professional development for provisional psychologists pursuing a career in the disability sector.

The Board-Approved Supervisor will be accountable for:

  • Providing primary and secondary (group) supervision to provisional psychologists undertaking the 5+1 internship
  • Developing and delivering training workshops and professional development activities to the provisional psychologists enrolled in the Provisional Psychology Academy
  • Contributing to the development of processes and procedures related to strong clinical governance.

The Provisional Psychology Academy  

The Provisional Psychology Academy provides a robust internship opportunity for provisional psychologists to pursue a career at the intersection of disability and mental health. The Academy includes an integrated program of Board-Approved supervision, tailored training and professional development activities, and opportunities for psychological practice across mental health settings, age groups, and in a range of geographic locations.

About You

In this role, you will have: 

  • Current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a psychologist since completing a psychology internship or post-Masters degree.
  • Relevant clinical experience providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and families of people with developmental and psychosocial disabilities including autism.
  • Demonstrated experience providing supervision to clinical staff and postgraduate students, including provisional psychologists undertaking either the 4+2 or 5+1 internship
  • A commitment to educating and developing future generations of psychologists.
  • A passion for developing a workforce skilled in providing high-quality and evidence based psychological services to people with developmental and psychosocial disabilities and their families.
  • A commitment to strive for excellence to maintain high standards of psychological care.
  • High standards of professional and ethical conduct, and integrity in all interactions.
  • A commitment to cultural respect, sensitivity and fairness, and value and embrace diversity.

To join our team you will be required to complete required clearances including an NDIS Workers Check.
