About the Role

We are passionate about mealtime and swallowing in our specialist mealtime therapy team! The TASTEE Team (The Autism Specific Team of Everything to do with Eating) is an established team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Psychologists who are dedicated to creating safe and positive mealtime for autistic individuals. We are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist to join us in a full-time or part-time arrangement.

As a Speech Pathologist in the mealtime therapy team, you will:

  • Work with autistic individuals across the lifespan creating lifechanging mealtimes.
  • Have an interest in dysphagia and swallowing, oral motor skills and development, picky eating and building variety into mealtimes.
  • Complete dynamic mealtime assessments and develop mealtime management plans.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, therapists, external medical teams and other relevant supports to implement practical mealtime strategies in a nurturing environment.
  • Deliver mealtime and dysphagia training to families, therapists, and support workers.
  • Be part of a specialist, multidisciplinary team, enjoy variation in your day and do more of what you love.

About You

You enjoy creating safe, enjoyable mealtimes with Autistic individuals and their families. We are looking for someone who:

  • Has 3 or more years’ experience working in this space.
  • Have a tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Demonstrates a person-centred approach, with a passion for empowering individuals and supporting their independence.
  • Has strong communication skills and able to build rapport with clients, families, and other professionals.
  • Has the flexibility and initiative to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Are committed to ongoing professional development and to delivering the highest standard of care.

To join our team you will be required to complete required clearances including an NDIS Workers Check.
