We’re looking for a Capacity Building and Disability Policy Mentor who can live and volunteer in Sri Lanka for a total of 10 months.
This assignment seeks to provide expertise in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and CRPD-aligned advocacy to support the update of Sri Lanka’s National Disability Policy.
The Disability Organizations Joint Front (DOJF), based in Colombo, is an umbrella organisation representing 35-member organisations of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) across Sri Lanka, advocating for their rights and fostering an inclusive society. Holding special consultative status with the Economic & Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, DOJF works to strengthen PWD organisations through policy advocacy, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement. The organisation requires a volunteer to provide expertise in policy analysis and CRPD-aligned advocacy to support the update of Sri Lanka’s National Disability Policy. Additionally, the volunteer will contribute to capacity-building training, strategic planning, and fundraising efforts to enhance DOJF’s financial sustainability.
The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian government-funded initiative. We support partner organisations across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa to achieve locally led change.
Volunteers are supported throughout their volunteer journey, and we actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible.
