We’re looking for a Lab Technician Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Tonga.
The Tonga Water Board (TWB), based in Tofoa, is the national utility responsible for providing safe and reliable water supply and sanitation services in the kingdom of Tonga. Established to address the growing need for sustainable water management, the TWB plays a critical role in ensuring access to clean water for Tonga's population, particularly in urban and peri-urban areas.
To ensure TWB's vision, that the community are getting clean and safe water to use, this assignment is vital. Capacity building of local staff by a volunteer, particularly around rigorous quality control of ground water testing, is essential for the organisation and the community in general.
The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian government-funded initiative. We support partner organisations across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa to achieve locally led change.
Volunteers are supported throughout their volunteer journey. We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. If you have accessibility requirements, please contact us to discuss how we can support you to volunteer with us - [email protected] using the subject line: Lab Technician Mentor (Voluntary) - The Tonga Water Board - Tonga enquiry via EthicalJobs.
