We’re looking for a Museum Curator Mentor who can live and volunteer in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) for 3-12 months.
Alele is a non-profit corporation, based in Majuro, RMI, which includes the National Museum, the Public Library, and the National Archives. The overall mission of Alele is to promote lifelong learning through informational, technological, and cultural literacy needs of all age groups by providing various forms of information access via traditional means such as printed documents and books, and through videos, and digitized and online documents.
In 2022, the Alele Museum partnered with the Australian Embassy to host a Mask exhibition, showcasing the rich culture of the Torres Strait Islands. the Alele Museum would like to build on from this partnership by seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander volunteer, to support the further development of the Museum.
The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian government-funded initiative. We support partner organisations across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa to achieve locally led change.
