We’re looking for an Organisational Capacity Development mentor who can live and volunteer for 10 months in Sri Lanka.
The Jaffna Social Action Center (JSAC) which is located in Nallur, Jaffna in Sri Lanka since 2003 has focused on combating violence against women and children, pioneering the first safe house in Northern Sri Lanka, a service it continues to maintain. Post the 2004 Tsunami, JSAC significantly expanded its scope to include infrastructure development, psychosocial, and recreational initiatives. By 2005, partnerships like the one with VSO enhanced JSAC’s governance and strategic approach. In the post-war context of 2011, JSAC extended its reach across other districts, securing national NGO status and focusing on the Northern province.
JSAC is needing the support of a volunteer to optimise resources, bring diverse skills, and enhance community engagement. They are hoping the volunteer will introduce some innovative ideas, and help strengthen ties with the community.
