We’re looking for a Road Construction Plan Operator Trainer who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Vanuatu.
Public Works Department (PWD) is part of the Ministry of Infrastructure & Public Utilities (MIPU) and is responsible for maintaining and improving the national road network. PWD has offices in the six provinces including workshops and plant and equipment for maintaining and constructing roads.
Most of the road network is maintained by the private sector, however PWD has a fleet of plant with operators and maintenance crews to maintain and construct minor road projects as directed by the PWD Director and Senior Managers.
The Volunteer will base in the department's headquarters in Port Vila where their focus will be but may from time to time be required to accompany staff travelling to the other provincial offices for training and specific support.
