ABOUT THE ROLE

The Behaviour Support Team Lead reports directly to the Participant Services Lead - Therapy and provides leadership, support, supervision and guidance to the Behaviour Support Team. The Behaviour Support Team Lead will support staff to ensure that a high-quality service is provided to individuals, and the supports provided are consistent with legislative requirements, funding as per service agreements and organisational policies and procedures.

In addition, the Behaviour Support Team Lead will maintain a caseload and work with participants of all ages to assess and support participants with behaviours of concern through individualised strategies including working with families and other supports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision of behaviour support therapy to individuals and families according to the NDIS Commission Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
  • Allocation of NDIS participants to appropriate staff in line with the staff members’ scope of practice, expertise and capacity.
  • Oversight of billable hours within the participants’ plans and liaison with support coordination staff and finance to troubleshoot any problems.
  • Support Behaviour Support Practitioners in their roles.
  • Regular participation in clinical supervision.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, including registration with relevant professional body
  • Demonstrated experience delivering behaviour support services
  • Must be assessed as a proficient level practitioner as per the PBS Capability Framework
  • Experience lodging behaviour support plans on the NQSC Portal
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Alignment with the core business values of Empowerment, Integrity, and Respect.
