Often children are placed quickly into foster care, kinship care or emergency accommodation without much more than what they are wearing at the time. Here at Backpacks 4 Vic Kids, we provide them with a few essential items to ease feelings of loss and to help with their relocation. We have delivered 10,000 packs to children in need since April 2015 and are proud to be supporting children's workers, agencies and carers with their valuable work.
As we increase our service capability, we have a great opportunity for a dynamic Programs Manager.
Could this be the next step you've been looking for?
You will work with our CEO/Managing Director/Founder to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets for projects. You will then take charge of the day to day operations, which include scheduling and risk management, along with maintaining project documentation and overseeing the activities of volunteers contributing both onsite and remotely.
No two days will be the same! From planning and budgets to being 'hands on' preparing backpacks, you will thrive in this role if you love a sense of achievement and take pride in being across the details.
You will be reporting to our CEO on a weekly basis, ensuring that all programs are completed on time, within budget and meet high-quality standards.
You are a 'people' person and a natural leader. With your finger on the pulse, you are across production and despatch targets and not afraid to get your 'hands dirty' picking and packing to make it happen. You have strong client-facing and teamwork skills, with an approach that's down to earth and transparent. You are looking for a role where you can make a real difference.
We welcome applicants from any sector, but experience in a similar role or with a volunteer-based organisation will be a distinct advantage.
Don't delay, we look forward to hearing from you.
