About the Role
The Men’s Wellness Coordinator will oversee the Men’s Wellness Program, ensuring it is responsive to community needs and effectively delivered through a range of initiatives, including:
- Cultural Healing – Strengthening identity and traditions through storytelling, ceremony, and community-led practices.
- Physical Health – Encouraging healthy lifestyles through sport, fitness, and nutrition education.
- Mental Wellbeing – Providing support, mentorship, and safe spaces for men to engage in open discussions.
- Creative Expression – Managing the music, sport, and art streams within the program.
- Community Engagement – Supporting local events like the Barunga Festival and other initiatives that promote positive social outcomes.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Program Leadership: Overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring cultural appropriateness and community engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as the key liaison between community members, BAC Directors, government agencies, and partner organisations.
- Service Delivery & Mentoring: Supporting program staff, enhancing participation, and ensuring sustainable, long-term impact.
- Operational Development: Advising on program improvements and aligning activities with broader community priorities.
About You
You are a passionate, community-driven leader with a strong background in program coordination, health and wellness, or community development.
Your experience includes:
- Engaging with Indigenous communities and facilitating culturally appropriate initiatives.
- Mentoring and empowering program staff and participants.
- Building meaningful relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration.
- Managing program budgets, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- A strong commitment to improving social and health outcomes through community-led initiatives.
