We currently have a permanent, full-time Senior Manager - Impact Lending position available to join our Impact Lending team based in our Collingwood office.

The Impact Lending team is responsible for providing market-driven lending solutions to for-profit, profit for purpose and not-for-profit organisations committed to driving positive social and /or environmental impact.

The Senior Manager - Impact Lending role is relationship role focused on developing partnerships with our customers across a range of sectors, including inclusive and affordable housing, climate transition, nature & biodiversity and First Nations organisations. In the role, you will be responsible for originating, structuring and recommending lending solutions that meet our customers’ needs, ongoing relationship management and working closely with our credit team to assess, execute and monitor transactions. Previous property finance experience will be well regarded as will the ability to contribute to the development and delivery of the impact lending strategy.

What you will be doing

  • Contributing to the development of long-term lending relationships between Bank Australia and its Impact Lending commercial customers by maintaining strong relationships with customers and working with networks in the Bank’s target impact segments to identify and originate good quality lending opportunities.
  • Developing deep sector knowledge and expertise, and supporting the development and implementation of the impact lending strategy.
  • Applying strong credit and lending skills to develop sound lending solutions.
  • In partnership with the Deal Team, supporting the preparation of high quality, balanced commercial loan proposals for new, increased or extended lending including conducting due diligence, financial/risk analysis and research, and impact assessment,
  • In conjunction with the Deal Team, managing the Financial Close process including negotiation of legal documentation, completing due diligence, reviewing conditions precedent and other loan requirements, communicating with stakeholders during the process.
  • Managing the ongoing lending / banking requirements of customers.
  • Developing and executing business development plans for individual sectors or customers.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of skills within the Impact Lending team.
  • Ensuring submissions comply with Bank Australia’s Commercial Credit Policy, underwriting standards, and credit risk appetite.
  • Contributing to staff training and development as required.

What you will bring

  • Significant lending experience in mid-market or corporate segments with a proven track record building strong networks and creating new lending opportunities.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
  • Understanding of the impact finance and investing sector in Australia.
  • Established commercial acumen and mindset.
  • Problem-solving skills, adaptability, resilience and a “can do” attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal written and interpersonal.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
