We currently have a permanent, full time opportunity for a Team Leader – Lending to join the Lending Department. This role will be based in Brisbane West End and will manage a team of Lending Consultants, providing leadership and support through coaching and mentoring their individual team members.

What you will be doing

  • A thorough understanding of the Bank’s purpose and values, as a basis for day-to-day employee engagement and decision-making
  • Analyse and report on process improvement and skills gaps across lending
  • Ensure lending procedures, policies and service standards are applied consistently throughout the lending function including effecting knowledge transfer
  • Assist the Lending Management Team in the development and implementation of Bank Australia distribution strategy with particular emphasis on process improvement
  • Effectively lead a team of lenders, ensuring consultants maintain appropriate skills through effective mentoring and coaching to achieve the goals of the lending team
  • Lead the Lending team to ensure they meet customer needs and achieve loan turnaround times and accuracy
  • Keep the lending team fully informed on matters which affect the delivery of lending services
  • Co-ordinate and implement employee training for the lending team ensuring consultants skills and knowledge are kept up to date
  • Complete employee appraisals in accordance with Bank Australia procedures and make recommendations to management regarding annual performance reviews
  • Provide timely, accurate and appropriate performance reporting to the Lending Manager; and
  • Perform other duties consistent with the classification of the position, as directed by Bank Australia management.

  • Proven ability and knowledge of lending functions
  • Proven ability in implementing policies, procedures and standards of operation
  • Extensive knowledge of the types of products and services offered within the financial services industry
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment – both leading and participating
  • Ability to adapt and demonstrate leadership in times of organisational change
  • Excellent and demonstrated communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Effective decision making skills
  • Ability to effectively determine priorities and allocate work under high workloads
  • Demonstrated people management skills with an ability to manage conflict satisfactorily and solve problems promptly
  • Ability to investigate and follow up queries
  • Excellent provision of customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects and conduct training programs
