About the Role

We are currently looking for motivated and passionate Lifestyle Assistant to join the supportive and friendly teams at our Northaven Community located in Kerang on a Part Time Permanent basis, averaging 60 hours a fortnight who can work Monday-Friday 9:30am-3:30pm.

As a Lifestyle Assistant, you will help in the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of a suitable and individually assessed social and lifestyle support activity program for residents of the facility that promotes the whole person’s well-being with a focus on the consumers’ needs, goals and preferences. 

Key Duties:

  • Follow the lifestyle program and provides feedback to the coordinator.
  • Document the consumer-focused outcomes and program delivery into the appropriate records.
  • Work to a planned schedule.
  • Drive the Baptcare bus safely and in accordance with traffic rules.
  • Work with and alongside the other facility staff to get the best consumer centered outcomes for consumers.
  • Work with colleagues in an affiliative manner that best reflects the Baptcare Mission & Vision statement.
  • Maintain own educational development and seek feedback on a regular re continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strict privacy and dignity with all information relating to consumers.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement cycle at the home.
  • Build relationships with families and other agencies at the service with the goal of improving life for consumers in care.
  • Report workplace risks to management.
  • Report consumer risks to management. 

About You:

  • Completed qualifications in a health field such as Leisure and Lifestyle, approved Diversional Therapy or Activity Worker course.
  • Certificate III (or above) in aged care or alternative therapy qualification or certificate – e.g., massage, aromatherapy (desirable not necessary).
  • Experience working within the Aged Care Sector or with Elderly people.
  • Proficient in computer literacy, including Microsoft Word & basic Excel.
  • A warm, compassionate, and reliable team member.
  • Ability to listen and understand our client's needs and requirements.
  • Full Drivers Licence.
  • Ability to meet and perform the inherent requirements of the role.
