About the Role

The WHS Advisor will work within the Residential Aged Care in partnership with Baptcare management and staff to contribute to organisational performance and employee engagement.

This is a key role in the Wellbeing, Health & Safety Team with a primary purpose to provide an effective Safety Management System that facilitates legislative compliance whilst supporting operations to provide safe and efficient work across all Baptcare’s divisions. 

Key Duties

• Visibly demonstrate work health and safety leadership and personal commitment to working with all Baptcare stakeholders
• Actively promote and foster constructive behaviours to enhance Baptcare’s organisational safety culture
• Coach Operational Leaders in the effective implementation of the WHS Management System
• Assist in achieving Baptcare’s objectives through WHS strategies and initiatives that cultivate and sustain a culture of continuous improvement within the state and nationally across the business
• Analyse and report safety data to key stakeholders to develop into key learnings and incident prevention strategies
• Assist in the development of safety policies, procedures, safety management systems and compliance strategies to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
• Contribute to the planning, implementation, promotion and evaluation of cost effective and timely work practices, health promotion activities and group programs.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidelines and Acts relating to safety, workers compensation and injury management

About You

With good knowledge and the ability to interpret and action occupational health and safety legislation and codes of practice, you are passionate about continuing to grow your career in the Residential Aged Care space.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you collaborate with and support others, demonstrating respect in your day-to-day actions.

You will ideally bring the following:

• Certificate IV level or higher qualification in Safety Graduate Degree
• 2+ years’ experience working in RAC/RL within Baptcare 
• 2+ years’ experience as a WHS Advisor or equivalent
• Knowledge of Aged Care and Community Care/ Services sector highly desirable
• Ability to work independently and bring “can do” attitude
• Able to work in collaboration and show empathy as required
