Barbaloot Conservation Group

Barbaloot Conservation Group Ltd is a leading not-for-profit conservation organisation, committed to restoring landscapes and creating safe habitats for Australia’s most endangered wildlife.

Founded by passionate environmentalists, Barbaloot takes direct action to protect and enhance biodiversity by investing in land and conservation strategies that create meaningful ecological outcomes. Our team of highly skilled and experienced strategy, design, finance, environmental, and operational professionals work collaboratively to implement best-practice conservation measures.

Barbaloot Conservation Reserve is part of a larger collective dedicated to sustainability and nature repair and is located on a property which serves as a high-impact, one-stop, eco-shop biosphere, showcasing innovative approaches to environmental stewardship.

The property includes an 80-hectare predator proof enclosure, home to a growing population of Southern Brush-Tailed Rock Wallabies, and an adjacent360-hectare reserve designed to expand critical habitat and support broader ecosystem recovery. Barbaloot’s approach integrates long-term conservation planning, rigorous land management, and science-driven habitat restoration.

The team works closely with another BLaST company, LRX. LRX is focused on nature repair and creating natural capital using carbon credits to fund the improvement of degraded farmland. Through a natural systems-based approach, the repair program utilises regenerative agriculture, erosion mitigation, hydrology strategies, and appropriate native mixed-species planting.
