ABOUT THE ROLE:

We have an opportunity for you to do this whilst living by the coast in one of Victoria’s most picturesque places.

As Health and Wellbeing Social Planner you will work closely with Council departments, other organisations, and the broader community to develop collective strategies that address complex social, health and wellbeing priorities and drive positive outcomes for diverse populations.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Work with the Team Leader Social Planning to provide specialised and strategic advice during the planning, implementation and evaluation phases of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan
  • Lead planning, policy and service development across a range of health-related areas.
  • Advocate within focus areas, including but not limited to; prevention of family violence, LGBTIQ+, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, Refugees, healthy lifestyle, prevention of smoking, mental health, and Gender Equity,
  • Develop funding submissions, analyse health data, monitor and evaluate complex projects, recommend policy or service options underpinned by evidence, research and health promotion principles.
  • Work with the Social Planning team and broader organisation to deliver best practice health promotion initiatives with a focus on collective impact, influence across teams, partnerships and plans to address emerging health and wellbeing needs of the Bass Coast Community.

TO BE A SUCCESS IN ROLE:

The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, facilitation and engagement skills, a deep understanding of social determinants of health, health promotion, health principles, community development and a commitment to fostering healthy, resilient communities. You will be an adept communicator, building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and will have experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion projects and initiatives, policies, strategies and plans.

You will be required to hold a Working with Children’s check for this role.
